Job summary

Hrgo-Recruitment is seeking a Production Operator for Lockerbie to support a leading timber products manufacturer. You will operate production and timber processing equipment, feed lines, stack and label products, and conduct basic quality checks.

The role requires a safety‑minded approach, reliability, and the ability to work to targets on rotating day and backshift patterns. Timber experience and FLT training are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production/manufacturing/warehouse environment is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet targets.
• Safety‑first approach and ability to follow procedures.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work rotating weekly shifts.
• Timber/sawmill/wood processing experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate production/timber processing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Feed lines, stack, band/strap, label and prepare product for next stage.
• Carry out quality checks and separate non‑conforming product.
• Record basic production information (output, downtime, checksheets).
• Maintain housekeeping/5S and follow site H&S rules and PPE requirements.
• Report hazards, near‑misses and equipment issues to Team Leader/Supervisor promptly.

Salary: GBP12.71 - GBP12.71 per hour

Production Operator - (Rotating Days/Backshift)

Leading manufacturer and distributor of timber garden products (fencing, sheds, garden buildings and structures). We’re proud to support our client and sustainable British timber; now recruiting Production Operators to join our Lockerbie operation.

Location

Dayshift: 06:00 – 14:30 (Friday finish 13:30)

Backshift: 16:00 – 00:30 (Friday 13:30 – 21:00)

Pay & contract

Pay: £12.71 per hour

What you’ll be doing

• Operating production/timber processing equipment safely and efficiently
• Feeding lines, stacking, banding/strapping, labelling and preparing product for the next stage
• Completing quality checks and separating any non-conforming product
• Recording basic production information (output, downtime, checksheets)
• Maintaining housekeeping/5S standards and following all site H&S rules and PPE requirements
• Reporting hazards, near‑misses and equipment issues promptly to the Team Leader/Supervisor

What we’re looking for
