Job summary

Ethypharm is seeking a Production Operator for the GFAM Night Shift at our Romford site. You will work in a cGMP environment producing pharmacological products, recording batch data, and ensuring quality throughout the manufacturing process.

The role requires attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to work a Sunday-Thursday night schedule with a 37.5-hour week. Training will be provided in GMP and operating procedures.

Qualifications

  • GCSE (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Experience operating machinery in a regulated environment.
  • Experience working in a structured, process-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of cGMP in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Complete batch records accurately with integrity.
  • Follow GMP working instructions to produce quality products.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to resolve machine issues.
  • Maintain batch-to-batch quality and minimize downtime.

Daily Work Times

Daily Work Times Sunday to Thursday. In line with operational requirements, your shift start time will fall between 10:00pm and 10:30pm, and your finish time between 6:00am and 6:30am. You will be scheduled to work 7.5 hours per day.

What you will do

As a Production Operator, you will work as part of a team producing high-quality pharmaceutical products focused on the treatment of pain, addiction, and critical care. You will ensure all production activities are carried out in line with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards.

Key responsibilities:
  • Accurate documentation: Complete batch manufacturing records accurately, neatly, and with integrity to ensure compliance at all times.
  • GMP compliance: Follow detailed GMP working instructions and guidelines to produce high-quality products.
  • Collaboration with Engineering: Work closely with the Engineering team to support the resolution of machine breakdowns.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively with colleagues to complete batch-to-batch tasks efficiently and minimise downtime.
  • Quality control: Carry out quality checks at various stages of the process to maintain product and patient safety.

This role is critical to ensuring products meet required quality standards and are delivered safely to end users.

Working environment
  • You will be required to wear cleanroom garments, including a one-piece suit and PPE (including powered respirators).
  • Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and undertake manual handling.
  • You must demonstrate good hygiene practices and apply training to minimise contamination risk.
About you

You will ideally have knowledge of cGMP and experience in pharmaceuticals or a similar regulated environment (full training will be provided). You will be process-driven, detail-focused, and an effective communicator.

  • Strong numerical skills and ability to read/understand numerical data

Production Operator – GFAM Night Shift

Please note that, if your application is successful following the initial review, you will be invited to attend an assessment centre on Sunday 4th October, from 10pm - 4am. The assessment centre will include maths and literacy assessments, a team activity and a comptency-based interview.
