Job summary

Biffa Group in Horsham is seeking a Production Operator to support a Mechanical Biological Treatment facility. You will operate, monitor and maintain process plant to support 24/7 operations, following SOPs and safety rules. The role includes 42 hours weekly, with early/late shifts and a 1-in-4 Saturday pattern.

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will work with Electrical/Mechanical Technicians and SCADA operators, progressing through training and development within the West Sussex operation.

Qualifications

• Health and safety awareness as a core requirement of site operations.
• Customer service orientation and ability to communicate clearly.
• Good organisation and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team when required.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible to shift patterns including Saturdays in 4.

Responsibilities

• Daily monitoring of the process plant and reporting abnormalities.
• Housekeeping across all site areas to maintain a clean environment.
• Basic maintenance and cleaning of fixed process plant under supervision.
• Execute tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Regular site inspections of infrastructure and equipment.
• Ensure safety of self and others; report safety or environmental issues.
• Attend safety meetings and toolbox talks as required.
• Maintain high standard of housekeeping per company policy.
• Perform other tasks as required by the company.
