Job summary

A leading manufacturer of resins and polymers is seeking a Production Operator for their night shift team in Wigan. The ideal candidate will have a background in chemical manufacturing, familiarity with product testing, and must be willing to work 6pm to 6am from Monday to Thursday. This role includes ensuring compliance with processes and requires relevant qualifications and experience in handling chemical processes and production equipment.

Job description

My client is a leading manufacturer of resins and polymers to a range of industries globally. They are now looking for a Production Operator to join their Weekday, Night team. The ideal candidate will come from a Chemical manufacturing background, be familiar with sampling and product testing, will have an understanding of Chemical processes and will be based locally to Wigan.

This position is exclusively night shift, please only apply if you are happy to work 6pm - 6am, Monday to Thursday.

Production Operator - Position Overview

• Ensuring all batch process and operational activities are carried out in compliance with HSEQ requirements
• Manufacturing products according to formulation batch sheets and specifications
• Making accurate additions or adjustments to processes
• Responding to required corrective and preventative action in a timely manner
• Monitoring of raw materials requirements and informing supervisors when finished products are suitably packaged
• Participating in Design / Hazard reviews

Production Operator - Position Requirements

• Previous experience working in a Chemical Process role
• Any previous experience on a COMAH site advantageous
• An understanding of Chemical processes
• An understanding of sampling and product testing
• Experienced in troubleshooting production equipment and process
• Experience operating Forklift Trucks
• NVQ Level 2 in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering desirable
• IOSH desirable
• Valid Forklift licence (Reach or Counterbalance)
• Based within a commutable distance of Wigan

Production Operator - Position Remuneration

• £14.50 per hour
• Monday - Thursday: 18:00 - 6:00 (48-hour week)
• 28 Days holiday inclusive of public holidays
• BUPA
• Pension
