Job summary

Thrive Shepton is recruiting a Production Operator on a temporary to permanent basis in Shepton Mallet. The role requires an FLT licence and entails Health & Safety compliance, GMP adherence and quality control within a busy production environment.

The successful candidate will work 4 on, 4 off, rotating 12-hour days and nights, with a focus on OTIF delivery and continuous improvement alongside the team. English communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• FLT licence required.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good understanding of cleaning and GMP basics.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to Health & Safety, uphold safe working practices and escalate issues as needed.
• Contribute to Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure food safety controls meet customer expectations.
• Adhere to GMP, hygiene standards, PPE and dress code; maintain 5S and visual management.
• Support on-time in full (OTIF) production delivery with minimal waste.
• Collaborate with team and other departments to optimise resources and processes.
• Follow health & safety policies; work with safety lead to meet requirements.
• Assist in maintaining compliance and site safety procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness in designated areas.
• Operate within the production plan to meet targets.

Thrive Shepton are delighted to be working with our client in Shepton Mallet, who are actively recruiting for a Production Operator on a temporary to permanent basis to join the team. Ideally the candidate will have FLT experience and a FLT licence.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a commitment to Health & Safety by working in a safe manner, championing safety behaviours, challenging unsafe practices & escalating issues where support is needed.
• Active involvement and commitment to the Quality Management System (QMS) ensuring all relevant controls and procedures are completed effectively to validate food safety controls and the products we make satisfy customer and consumer expectations.
• Understanding and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene standards, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and dress code. To demonstrate a 'clean as you go' approach to working while maintaining workplace organisation and visual management standards.
• To be fully involved and engaged in achieving a delivery goal mirroring or exceeding the production plan, On Time in Full (OTIF) with minimal waste. To play an active part in all aspects of your job to realise the successful achievement of performance expectations and customer satisfaction.
• To act with honesty and integrity to work harmoniously, effectively, and respectfully within your team and in collaboration with all other internal teams as appropriate to ensure effective utilisation of all resources, people, plant (equipment) and processes. To be energised, creative, flexible and with a sense of humour to fully support the management team with all activities aligned to the site objectives.
• Support the implementation of the health & safety policies and procedures within the business.
• Work with the safety lead to meet all safety requirements and legal compliance.
• Effectively control health & safety risks within your designated work areas and teams.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Ability to understand written and spoken English.

• Good level of understanding of cleaning requirements.

Working Hours:

• 4 on 4 off - Rotating 2x 12 Hour Days followed by 2x 12 Hour Nights

Pay:

£13.45 per hour
