Orion Electrotech is hiring a Production Operator at our Somerset site on a 4 on/4 off, 12-hour shift pattern (days and nights). The role involves operating and monitoring production equipment to meet strict quality standards and to keep lines running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment to ensure output meets quality standards.
• Carry out routine checks for defects, weights and tolerances, and complete paperwork.
• Perform basic mechanical adjustments, fault finding and minor remedial tasks.
• Support line changeovers, cleaning, realignment and equipment setup.
• Ensure steady supply of materials to the production line and escalate issues promptly.
• Maintain housekeeping, cleanliness and food-safe working practices.
• Follow site health & safety procedures at all times.

Production Operator

Location: Somerset
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off - 12-hour shifts (Days & Nights)
Salary: £30,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting for Production Operators to join a busy manufacturing site near Somerset. The site operates a 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern covering both days and nights and supplies products directly to an on-site customer.

This role would suit someone with previous production or machine-operating experience, although full training will be provided. It is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to develop their skills within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Production Operator role:

• Operating and monitoring production equipment to ensure output meets required quality standards
• Carrying out routine checks for visual defects, weights, and tolerances, completing associated paperwork accurately
• Performing basic mechanical adjustments, fault finding, and minor remedial work within your level of competence
• Supporting production line changeovers, cleaning, realignment, and general equipment setup
• Ensuring a consistent supply of materials to the production line and escalating any issues to supervision promptly
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and food-safe working practices
• Working safely at all times and following site health & safety procedures

Skills & Experience required for this Production Operator role:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment (preferred)
• Exposure to machinery, production lines, or automated processes is advantageous
• Mechanical aptitude or interest in production equipment
• Ability to work a rotating days and nights shift pattern
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
