Job summary

Barfoots of Botley is seeking a committed and proactive supervisor to oversee production lines in a fast-paced FMCG environment. You will manage line operatives and agency staff, ensure accurate data capture, and drive short-interval control (SIC) to meet production targets.

The role involves 12-hour shifts on a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation in a temperature-controlled environment. Strong English skills and a track record in factory production are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating production machinery in a factory environment.
• Experience overseeing a production line.
• FMCG or Food/Fresh Produce experience.
• Ability to set up, run and adjust machinery and perform basic maintenance as required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee line operatives and agency workers, ensuring data capture is timely and accurate.
• Monitor adherence to health & safety policies and report risks to the Cell Leader.
• Ensure staff have the correct role training and tasks.
• Ensure products meet quality standards.
• Set up, run and adjust machinery to specifications; perform basic maintenance.

Job description

Reporting to the Cell Leader you will be working within a team inside the factory overseeing the efficient and effective running of complex production lines. You will also be responsible for the overseeing of line operatives and agency workers, ensuring all data capture is timely and accurate and SIC (short interval control) is being implemented and acted upon. The Hours: This role will operate 4 days on, 4 days off, 12-hour shift pattern Please note this position involves working in a temperature controlled (3 to 5ºc) environment.

• Ensure H&S standards are adhered to whilst complying with the company H&S policies & to report all instances of risk. Reporting any health & safety issues to the Cell leader
• Ensure all staff have the correct role training to carry out assigned tasks
• Ensure that all products meet quality standards
• Set up, run and adjust machinery to the required specification. Be able to conduct basic pre-planned maintenance techniques in line with machines requirements
• To be able to run to targeted UPM over a minimum of two complex machines, a combination of Bagging lines, Flow wrap Lines, Lidding Lines, Mic Vac Lines, Automation Lines
• Previous experience of operating production machinery in a factory environment
• Previous experience overseeing a production line
• Previous FMCG or Food/Fresh Produce experience
• Strong communication skills
• English Level 3
• Good numerical and analytical skills
• Able to work under pressure & to deadlines
• Good organisational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
