Job summary

Barfoots of Botley in West Sussex is seeking a Production Operator for our Chichester & Pagham site. This full-time, permanent role operates on a day shift, four days on and four days off.You will help prepare fresh produce for packing, sort and grade to quality standards, pack and label finished products, and carry out visual quality checks. Training covers Food Safety Level 2, Allergen Awareness, Manual Handling, COSHH and safe working practices.

• No manufacturing experience required—we'll provide all the training you need to succeed.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential.
• Good communication and teamwork are important in our fast-paced environment.
• Ability to undertake manual handling and stand for extended periods.

What you will be doing:

No two days are the same. Depending on the department you're working in, you'll help with a range of production activities, including:

• Preparing fresh produce for packing
• Sorting and grading products to quality standards
• Packing and labelling finished products
• Carrying out visual quality checks
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety
• Working with your team to meet daily production targets
• Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe

Full Training Provided:

We'll support you from day one with a comprehensive induction covering:

• Food Safety Level 2
• Allergen Awareness
• Manual Handling
• COSHH
• Safe working practices
• Production processes

Working Environment

You’ll be working in a temperature-controlled fresh produce facility (typically 3°C–5°C). The role involves standing for long periods and some manual handling.
