Job summary

Katmex Ltd. is hiring a Production Operative Welder (Weld Robot Operative) in Stockton-on-Tees. The role involves operating weld robots, following setup sheets and drawings, and maintaining high quality through TPM checks and daily inspections.

The successful candidate will join a skilled team in a precision fabrication environment, with opportunities for development and salary progression. 37 hours per week, with a shift rotation including days, backs and nights.

Qualifications

• Previous experience using a cobot or weld robot.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Willing to undergo training and development.

Responsibilities

• Follow part set up sheets and customer work schedules.
• Weld heavy duty steel parts using weld sets and burning equipment.
• Complete TPM and pre-operation check sheets.
• Work from engineering drawings.
• Inspect parts and perform first off checks for quality.
• Ensure equipment is safe to operate.
• Carry out ad hoc duties as required by the line manager.

Production Operative (Weld Robot Operative)

Starting Salary: £12.71 (Trainee wage only) – £14.43 per hour (+ shift allowance)
Hours: 37 hours per week (3 weekly shift rotation: day shift, back shift and night shift)
Location: Stockton-on-Tees, TS20 2BH.
Contract Type: Full-time, permanent.

Summary

We are looking for a skilled Production Operative Welder to work within a highly skilled dynamic environment in the precision fabrication and multi-plate processing industry. The Production Operative will work alongside the Fabrication Supervisor and the wider Katmex team working together to support daily production operations. Job role

• Following part set up sheets and customer work schedules.
• Using hand tools such as weld sets and burning equipment to weld heavy duty steel parts.
• Completion of daily operation, TPM (total preventative/ production maintenance) and pre-operation check sheets.
• Completing tasks by use of engineering drawings.
• Inspect quality of parts to maintain high standards and completion of first off checks.
• Inspect all equipment to ensure it’s in a safe working condition.
• Other adhoc duties as requested by your line manager. However, you will be given duties in respect of your abilities, skill-set and organisational structure. The Company will not ask you to complete tasks that are outside the scope of your capablities.

Qualifications and experience

• Previous experience using a cobot or a weld robot is essential.
• Previous experience working within the manufacturing sector is beneficial but not essential.
• Previous experience using engineering drawings would be beneficial but not essential.
• You are also given comprehensive training once you commence employment.
