Job summary

Katmex Ltd. is seeking a skilled Production Operative (CNC Machinist) to join a precision fabrication environment in Stockton-on-Tees. The role supports daily production operations alongside the Secondary Supervisor and wider Katmex team, with opportunities to develop skills on stimulating projects.

You will be trained comprehensively, work on CNC machines to produce heavy-duty parts, and participate in TPM and quality checks to uphold high standards in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC is beneficial but not essential.
• Experience in manufacturing is beneficial but not essential.
• Comprehensive training is provided when you start employment.

Responsibilities

• Follow part set up sheets and customer work schedules.
• Operate CNC machines to produce heavy-duty parts for the yellow goods sector.
• Carry out daily operation, TPM, and pre-operation checks.
• Inspect parts to ensure high quality and perform first-off checks.
• Check equipment safety and perform adjustments using CNC programmes.
• Work on both team-driven and solo tasks as required by the line manager.

Hours: 37 hours per week (3 weekly shift rotation: day shift, back shift and night shift)

Location: Stockton-on-Tees, TS20 2BH.

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent.

Summary

We are looking for a skilled Production Operative (CNC Machinist) to work within a highly skilled dynamic environment in the precision fabrication and multi-plate processing industry. The Production Operative will work alongside the Secondary Supervisor and the wider Katmex team working together to support daily production operations. Job role

• Following part set up sheets and customer work schedules.
• Using hand tools such as pin grinders/ angle grinders.
• Use CNC machines to machine heavy duty parts for the yellow goods sector.
• Completion of daily operation, TPM (total preventative/ production maintenance) and pre-operation check sheets.
• Completing tasks by use of engineering drawings.
• Inspect quality of parts to maintain high standards and completion of first off checks.
• Inspect all equipment to ensure it's in a safe working condition.
• Carry out adjustments using CNC programmes.
• Other adhoc duties as requested by your line manager. However, you will be given duties in respect of your abilities, skill‑set and organisational structure. The Company will not ask you to complete tasks that are outside the scope of your capablities.

Qualifications and experience

• Previous experience using CNC machines would be beneficial but not essential.
• Previous experience working within the manufacturing sector is beneficial but not essential.
• Previous experience using engineering drawings would be beneficial but not essential.
• You are also given comprehensive training once you commence employment.
