This temporary, part-time role requires good attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and teamwork. Weekend availability and willingness to work Saturday shifts are essential.

Production Operative (Weekends)

Job Description

This role requires a reliable and diligent individual to work as a Production Operative during weekend shifts within a busy manufacturing environment. The primary focus is to assist with the efficient and safe operation of production lines, ensuring that products meet quality standards and production targets are achieved. The position is temporary and part-time, offering an excellent opportunity to gain experience in manufacturing and production.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and equipment safely in line with company procedures and health and safety regulations.
• Monitor production lines to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to operational standards.
• Carry out basic assembly, packaging, and labelling tasks as required.
• Conduct routine checks on materials and finished goods to identify defects or inconsistencies.
• Maintain a clean and organised working area to promote safety and efficiency.
• Report any faults, malfunctions, or health and safety concerns promptly to supervisors.
• Follow instructions and work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules.
• Adhere to all company policies, including quality control and environmental standards.

Required Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills to understand instructions and complete records accurately.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment is desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to work weekend shifts and flexibility in working hours.

Education

• General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or equivalent qualifications preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

• Experience working in a production or manufacturing setting is advantageous.
• Familiarity with health and safety practises in a production environment is beneficial.
• Ideally previous Production/Assembly experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain quality standards consistently.
• Basic understanding of safe working practises and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly.
• Physical stamina to stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous training or certification in manual handling or health and safety is beneficial.
• Experience using production machinery or equipment.

Working Conditions

• The role is based in an industrial manufacturing environment, involving standing for extended periods and performing manual tasks.
• The position requires working during weekends with some flexibility on shift patterns.
• Personal protective equipment will be provided and must be worn at all times.
• Temperature and noise levels may vary in the production area, in line with typical manufacturing settings.
