Job summary

James Hall & Co. Ltd at the SPAR Distribution Centre in Preston is seeking Food Production Operatives to help produce our high-quality ready meals with care and attention to detail.

The role is permanent, 36 hours per week across 5 out of 7 days including Sundays, starting at 7:30am. Training is provided, and you’ll work across production lines while following Health, Safety, Hygiene standards and site procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in food production is not required but helpful.
• Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene training can be provided on site.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; numeracy.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work safely with others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food in line with company standards.
• Support with packing and labelling of products.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace.

About the Role

We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals with an interest in food preparation and a keen eye for detail. As a Food Production Operative, you’ll play a key role in producing our range of high-quality ready meals.

Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing

In this role, you’ll support the Production Manager and ensure all food is prepared safely and to specification. Training will be provided, so all you need is the rightattitude and commitment.

You will:

• Prepare and cook food in line with company standards
• Support with packing and labelling products
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace
• Follow Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements
• Work across multiple production lines
• Set up and run machinery to set specifications
• Complete documents and records accurately
• Manufacture safe, quality food by following all relevant Health, Safety, Environment and Food Safety standards
• Carry out general housekeeping and maintain cleanliness of production areas
• Adhere to site processes and procedures for safe and efficient operations

A Few Things About You

We’re looking for people who are passionate, reliable, and eager to learn. Previous experience in food production is helpful, but not essential—we’ll provide full training.
