Pertemps Crawley Perms in St Leonards On Sea is seeking a hands-on Production Operative to build precision test and measurement instruments from start to finish, across electronic, optical and mechanical assembly.

You will follow technical drawings, perform in-process checks, maintain accurate build records, and contribute to a high-quality manufacturing process.

Qualifications

• An interest or background in electronic, optical, or mechanical assembly (formal experience is beneficial, but transferable skills from hobbies, modelling, or fine craftwork are equally welcome).
• Excellent manual dexterity with a steady hand for fine, small-component work.
• Proficiency or comfort using hand tools, soldering irons, and basic test equipment.
• A methodical, well-organised approach with exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronics, optics and mechanical components from start to finish.
• Carry out in-process checks and verify against technical drawings.
• Maintain accurate build records for traceability.

Production Operative Opportunity

Location: St Leonards On Sea, East Sussex

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 per annum (dependent on skills and relevant experience)

Type: Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

About the RoleWe are seeking a hands-on Production Operative to build precision test and measurement instruments from start to finish. You will work across electronic, optical, and mechanical assembly, carrying out in-process checks, following technical drawings, and maintaining accurate build records.
