Job summary

Pertemps is seeking a Production Operative in St Leonards On Sea, East Sussex. You will build precision test and measurement instruments from start to finish across electronic, optical, and mechanical assembly, performing in-process checks and maintaining build records.

The role offers a full-time permanent contract (37.5 hours) with a salary of £28,000–£34,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Working hours are Monday–Thursday 8:00–16:30, Friday 7:30–13:00.

• Excellent manual dexterity with a steady hand for fine, small-component work.
• Proficiency or comfort using hand tools, soldering irons, and basic test equipment.
• A methodical, well-organised approach with exceptional attention to detail.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Production Operative to build precision test and measurement instruments from start to finish. You will work across electronic, optical, and mechanical assembly, carrying out in-process checks, following technical drawings, and maintaining accurate build records.

Key Requirements

• An interest or background in electronic, optical, or mechanical assembly (formal experience is beneficial, but transferable skills from hobbies, modelling, or fine craftwork are equally welcome).
• Excellent manual dexterity with a steady hand for fine, small-component work.
• Proficiency or comfort using hand tools, soldering irons, and basic test equipment.
• A methodical, well-organised approach with exceptional attention to detail.
