Job summary

Magma Catalyst in Wallasey is seeking a Production Operative to join our hands-on team in a busy ceramics manufacturing environment. You will cover a wide range of activities across the production process, gaining hands-on experience and ongoing training.

The role involves preparing materials, casting and pressing, loading dryers and kilns, inspecting quality, packing finished products, and manual handling.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • A valid counterbalance forklift licence, or evidence of recent counterbalance forklift experience.
  • Basic maths skills
  • Basic literacy skills
  • A willingness to undertake random drugs and alcohol testing

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and mixing ceramic materials
  • Carrying out a variety of casting and pressing processes
  • Loading and unloading dryers
  • Cleaning and preparing products before and after kiln processing
  • Loading and unloading kilns
  • Carrying out quality inspections
  • Packing finished products
  • Manual handling of bags weighing up to 25kg, with lifting aids such as hoists and forklifts available

£13.79 per hour | 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Rotating Shifts

Are you looking for a varied role in a manufacturing environment where you can develop your skills and gain ongoing training? We are looking for aProduction Operativeto join our team in Wallasey.

This is a hands-on role covering a wide range of activities across the ceramics manufacturing process. No two days are exactly the same, and you’ll have the opportunity to build your knowledge and experience through continual training.

Your Working Hours
Pay rate: £13.79 per hour

This is a rotating shift pattern:

  • Early Shift:Monday–Thursday, 06:00–14:00 | Friday, 06:00–11:30
  • Late Shift:Monday–Thursday, 12:00–20:00 | Friday, 10:30–16:00
What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to theLeading Hand, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day production of our ceramic products. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and mixing ceramic materials
  • Carrying out a variety of casting and pressing processes
  • Loading and unloading dryers
  • Cleaning and preparing products before and after kiln processing
  • Loading and unloading kilns
  • Carrying out quality inspections
  • Packing finished products
  • Manual handling of bags weighing up to 25kg, with lifting aids such as hoists and forklifts available

You’ll work as part of a team and will be provided with the appropriatePPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection and safety footwear.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, practical and willing to learn. You’ll need:

  • Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • A validcounterbalance forklift truck licence, or evidence of recent counterbalance forklift experience
  • Previous production or manufacturing experience is desirable
  • Basic maths skills
  • Basic literacy skills
  • A willingness to undertake random drugs and alcohol testing
