Restore plc is recruiting for a Recycling and Production Operative in South Kirkby. You will support safe, efficient warehouse and production activities, including loading/unloading vehicles, material segregation, and operation of approved machinery. Regular manual handling is required.

The role is Monday to Friday, 45 hours weekly, permanent contract. You will perform daily checks, maintain records, and ensure safety and housekeeping standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Operate shredding, baling and other production machinery safely and only where trained and authorised to do so.
• Complete daily checks on machinery and equipment and report defects.
• Safely load, unload, sort and process confidential materials per procedures.
• Operate FLTs, telehandlers and other material-handling equipment where trained and authorised.
• Ensure materials are segregated, stored and processed according to requirements.
• Follow safe systems of work and site Health & Safety requirements.
• Report machinery defects or safety concerns to site management.
• Maintain clean and safe working areas and records.
• Complete operational documentation within required timescales.

About The Role

Role: Production Operative
Location: South Kirkby, WF9 3FD
Salary: £29,891.86
Hours a week: 45 hours, 05.00 - 15.00 depending on business requirements
Days of work: Monday to Friday
Contract type: Permanent

This is a unique role within Restore Datashred to join our business as a Recycling and Production Operative. Being responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse and production function, including the loading and unloading of vehicles, movement and segregation of materials, operation of authorised plant and machinery, housekeeping and completion of required operational checks and documentation.
This role involves regular manual handling and lifting, so it’s well suited to someone who enjoys being active and takes pride in doing a job that keeps them moving throughout the day.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate shredding, baling and other production machinery safely and only where trained and authorised to do so.
• Complete required daily and routine machinery, equipment and operational checks, accurately recording and reporting any defects.
• Safely load, unload, move, sort and process confidential materials in accordance with Company procedures.
• Operate FLTs, telehandlers and other material-handling equipment safely and only where appropriately trained, competent and authorised.
• Ensure materials are correctly segregated, stored and processed in accordance with operational, security and environmental requirements.
• Follow all safe systems of work, risk assessments, manual-handling procedures and site Health & Safety requirements.
• Immediately report machinery defects, breakdowns, damage, safety concerns, security incidents, near misses or other operational issues to site management.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring working areas, equipment and access routes are kept clean, tidy and safe.
• Complete all required operational documentation and records accurately and within the required timescales.
