Job summary

Quanex is seeking an operator to manufacture weather seals on-site at our Newton Aycliffe facility. Shifts run 6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm and 10pm–6am, with duties including raw material replacement, quality checks and adherence to KPI targets.

The role emphasizes safe working practices and accurate handover documentation to the next operator. We require prior manufacturing exposure, plus Lean methods knowledge and proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean tools and techniques.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• SAP experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture weather seals in a safe manner.
• Replace raw materials to ensure continuous production.
• Perform quality control checks on profiles.
• Achieve KPI targets (OEE, Scrap, OTIF, Quality Standards, Throughput and Productivity).
• Ensure informative handover is communicated to the next operator and filed in the handover book.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

• To manufacture weather seals in a safe manner.
• Replacement of raw materials to ensure continuous production
• Quality control checks on profiles
• Achieve the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Targets (OEE, Scrap, OTIF ,Quality Standards , Throughput and Productivity).
• Ensure informative handover is effectively communicated to succeeding operator, any points of note written, signed and dated; in handover book.
