Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in the United Kingdom seeks a production operator to operate and maintain a designated machine, ensuring quality and safety throughout the production process. Responsibilities

  • Operate the designated machine in line with its technical requirements and related best practices to secure optimal utilisation, cost, and quality outcomes
  • Monitor quality of raw materials (board, ink, glue) and finished goods; report discrepancies
  • Follow established quality control policies and procedures for production flow and reporting
  • Keep the workstation clean and tidy
  • Maintain the designated machine and perform required maintenance
  • Inform the Team Leader of any maintenance issues on the machine
  • Learn production processes and broaden knowledge on conversion-related issues
  • Sign off on Safe Working Systems before starting operations
  • Follow health and safety regulations for the workstation and the company, reporting hazardous discrepancies

The Role

Tasks & duties include:

  • Operate the designated machine in line with its technical requirements and related best practices I methods to secure its optimal utilisation and cost and quality effective outcome
  • Continuously focus on the quality of the delivered raw materials (board, ink, glue) as well as manufactured finished goods through the monitoring and reporting on any discrepancies encountered
  • Follow the established quality control policies and procedures in terms of production flow and work organisation Fulfill all the requirements in relation to the production and quality reporting
  • Keep the workstation clean and tidy
  • Keep control over the designated machine in terms of its operational condition and perform all designated maintenance duties and responsibilities associated with the machine
  • Ensure passing an updated information to the respective Team Leader of any maintenance- related issues on a designated machine
  • Actively seek and take the opportunities to learn the production process and to broaden person's knowledge base on conversion-related issues
  • Ensure signing off all the required Safe Working Systems before beginning the specific operation I task
  • Follow all of the Healthy and Safety regulations respective for the specific workstation as well as the general company requirements and report on any hazardous discrepancies that need corrective actions
