Job summary

OA Recruitment is seeking Production Operatives for a well-established manufacturing business on the outskirts of Hitchin. This temporary-to-permanent position offers an opportunity to join a growing team with a solid potential for permanent placement.

Hours are 8am to 4pm with a starting pay rate of £13.50 per hour. The role requires manual handling and a willingness to learn, with on-site parking and full training provided. A driving option is essential due to the remote location.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

Duties of a Production Operative

As a Production Operative, you will play a key role in the manufacturing process. Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Weighing and preparing raw materials in line with production specifications.
• Monitoring production processes to ensure products meet quality standards.
• Loading and unloading materials and finished products.
• Packing, labelling, and preparing products for dispatch.
• Carrying out basic quality checks and reporting any faults or defects.

• Following all health and safety procedures, company policies, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Working as part of a team to meet daily production targets and deadlines.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:
