Job summary

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltdis seeking flexible Machine Operators to join a leading food manufacturer in Barnwood, Gloucester, for the January 2027 start. You will work on a modern, highly automated production line and be involved in packing, line QA, and paperwork.

The role requires strong numeracy, a can-do attitude, and the ability to work weekends with various shifts. Paid weekly/hourly pay with pension and holidays included, temp-to-perm opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Basic numeracy and attention to detail required.
  • Good team player with a flexible approach.
  • Experience in food production is desirable but not essential.
  • Must be able to pass Level 2 Food Safety.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery producing units of packed products.
  • Pack finished products and complete associated paperwork.
  • Maintain high hygiene standards throughout production.
  • Follow Health & Safety procedures and report issues promptly.

About this job

A leading food manufacturer is looking for flexible Machine Operators, to join its team ahead of the busy 2027 season.

Successful candidates will start during the first week of January 2027 and work on a production line at a modern, highly automated, and hygienic manufacturing facility based in Barnwood, Gloucester.

PAY: Paying from £14.11 to £33.60 per hour, with opportunities to progress to up to £36.95 per hour based on performance, training, and role progression.

SHIFTS: Various shifts available but preferably you will be able to work all or some weekends The contract is on-going with strong temp to perm opportunities.

What You Will Be Doing: To operate a variety of machinery producing units of packed products.

Pack finished products on the end of the line ready to send through to distribution whilst completing all paperwork.

To ensure a high standard of quality is maintained throughout the production process.

To maintain excellent hygiene standards in line with Company/ Client procedure.

To communicate any issues as they arise.

To follow all Company and Client procedures.

To adhere to Health and Safety standards.

To work in a flexible and organised manner.

Training, coaching and mentoring of any other team members.

To carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by your supervisor or Manager.

To understand and comply with the Company's Health and Safety Policy Statement.

What You Will Bring: Have an eye for detail to ensure accuracy and precision.

Possess a good level of numeracy skills.

Positive attitude possessing high levels of commitment and motivation.

Flexibility to work varying shift patterns and work to tight deadlines.

A strong communicator able to work well in a team.

The ability to work on fast moving production lines.

Ability to pass Level 2 Food Safety.

Ability to be flexible, quality conscious, and to problem solve.

Experience of working in a similar food production sector (desirable) Knowledge of food production, food hygiene and associated procedures (desirable).
