Job summary

Elmbridge Supplies in the United Kingdom seeks a Production Operative to join our on-site team in Cumbernauld. You will support the Operations Manager to ensure paints are mixed accurately, orders fulfilled quickly, and service levels maintained at a high standard.

Main duties include color matching, stock control, and maintaining 5S in the mixing lab, with a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, plus 23 days holiday and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in spraying or coatings is preferred but training will be provided.
• Excellent attention to detail for color matching.
• Good computer skills and ability to answer customer calls.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting with 5S is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Mix paints for joinery and coatings ensuring correct formulations and color matching.
• Maintain stock of colourants and samples and keep 5S area tidy.
• Provide accurate product information and assist customers on site or by phone.
• Safely dispatch finished products and ensure on-time delivery.

Overview of the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager the Production Operative will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service, exceeding customer expectations, and contributing to the Company’s continued growth and reputation as a market leader.

You will support the Operations Manager in ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled quickly and efficiently, enquiries are responded to promptly and concerns resolved efficiently. You will elevate any complex issues to the Operations Manager.

Within the Production facility you will take pride in your work ensuring paints are mixed correctly and customers receive the correct order and outstanding service that Elmbridge pride ourselves on delivering.

Key Responsibilities

Product and Technical Knowledge

• Provide accurate information about Elmbridge products and guide customers in making informed decisions. Prior experience in the industry is desirable but not essential as full product training will be provided.
• Maintain a deep understanding of our products, services and policies to address customer concerns effectively with empathy and professionalism.

Production

• Mix paints for joinery and industrial coatings and stains, ensuring all formulations of preparation and colour matching are to the highest standard and meet customer requirements.
• Ensure colour recipes, libraries and samples are updated and maintained.
• Ensure stock control of colourants and special pigments is completed
• Maintain a clean and tidy mixing and laboratory area including tools, equipment, and machinery in line with the 5S principles.

Dispatch and Delivery

Safely transport finished products to customers ensuring they arrive on time and undamaged.

Key Requirements

• Previous experience in spraying or handling coatings
• Attention to detail in order to colour match the paints correctly
• Confident in using Computers and answering customer calls
• The ability to work alone when needed
• The ability to maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in a manufacturing business using 5S principles is advantageous but not essential

Working Hours

You will be required to work 40 hours per week Monday to Friday on site at our facility in Cumbernauld.

• 23 days holiday per year plus Bank & Public Holidays
