Job summary

Randstad Inhouse Services is hiring a Production Operative at our Forest of Dean site. You’ll help package and check beverages, operate packaging equipment, and support quality checks to keep products moving to shelves.

The role is temporary (ongoing) with full shift flexibility. Starting pay £12.71 per hour, rising to £13.62 after 12 weeks, plus day and night shift allowances and a generous benefits package. You’ll work across 8- or 12-hour patterns depending on demand.

Qualifications

• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics is required.
• Basic computer literacy and excellent written/spoken communication are important.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the effective production and packaging of high-quality goods.
• Prepare, operate, and clean packaging equipment efficiently.
• Perform on-line quality control checks on finished products, components, and syrups.
• Strictly follow SOPs and PPE/safety guidelines.
• Assist across cross-functional teams as needed for daily production.
• Handle manual lifting duties safely as required.

Role Overview

• Job Title: Production Operative
• Job Type: Temporary - Ongoing
• Location: Forest of Dean
• Starting Pay Rate: £12.71 p/h
• Post-Parity Pay Rate: £13.62 p/h (Day & Night) after 12 weeks!
• Day shift allowance: £17.48 p/h
• Night shift allowance: £29.13 p/hShift Patterns:
• 8-Hour pattern: Morning (06:00 - 14:00), Afternoon (14:00 - 22:00), Night (22:00 - 06:00)
• 12-Hour pattern: Day (06:00 - 18:00), Night (18:00 - 06:00)
• (Must be fully flexible to work all shifts and patterns)
• *Shifts will depend based on the client's demand & requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Previous production operative experience or background in food/drink manufacturing is beneficial, but not essential-a great attitude is key!
• Key Behaviours: Reliable, physically fit for hands-on tasks, flexible across shift patterns, and driven to succeed.
• Education: GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• Skills: Basic computer literacy and excellent communication skills (writing, speaking, and reading).
