Job summary

INSPIRED Pet Nutrition is seeking Production Operatives to join our manufacturing site near Kinmel Bay, North Wales. The roles cover Wet Processing, Wet Packing and Bakery, with a 24/7 shift pattern and 12-hour shifts from 06:00 to 18:00 or 18:00 to 06:00.

You will follow production plans, maintain high quality and hygiene standards, and support training for colleagues. Prior experience in manufacturing and good literacy/numeracy are required, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within Manufacturing.
• Good literacy and numerical skills; able to communicate and report in English.

Responsibilities

• Follow production directions and ensure products are packed correctly with the right WIP quantities.
• Maintain high quality, in line with food safety standards and hygiene policies.
• Follow Clean As You Go to sustain high hygiene standards in the department.
• Conduct hourly production checks and report issues to Shift Leader/Area Manager.
• Monitor machinery and equipment performance; report breakdowns through the proper channels.
• Promote a safe culture and report safety issues and damage accordingly.
• Minimise waste of raw materials, packaging, chemicals and water; assist in training colleagues.

Job description

We are looking for Production Operatives to join our team in our Manufacturing site near Kinmel Bay, North Wales. We have opportunities available in various departments, including Wet Processing, Wet Packing and Bakery.

On Offer:

• Hourly rate of £13.31 plus £2.00 shift allowance (£15.31 ph)
• 24/7 shift pattern - (2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off)
• 12 hour shifts - days 06:00 - 18:00 / nights 18:00 - 06:00
• Monthly pay

The Role

TheProduction Operativerole is to ensure processes are followed within the production to ensure products are produced in line with production plans, to the highest level of quality whilst keeping our colleagues safe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Following production directions given and ensuring that products are packed using the correct combination and volumes of WIP
• Ensuring that the highest level of quality is maintained throughout the production process, through compliance with relevant Food Safety legislation, standards and requirements
• Following the ‘Clean As You Go’ policy at all times, to ensure that the department is operating to the highest standards of hygiene
• Ensuring that hourly production checks are carried out, and when any issues arise, that they are reported immediately to the Area Shift Leader or the Area Manager
• Monitors the effectiveness of machinery and equipment, through overall equipment effectiveness, where there is an issue escape through the appropriate channels e.g. reporting breakdowns to Engineering department
• Promote a people safe culture within the department, complying with policies and procedures, reporting any safety issues and plant damage through the appropriate procedures
• Minimising waste of raw materials, products, packaging, chemicals and water whilst undertaking duties within the department
• Undertake training and assist with the training of other colleagues when required. Act as a buddy for new colleagues and provide guidance where necessary.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience in a same / similar role within Manufacturing
• A good standard of education; demonstrates good literacy and numerical skills, able to understand, communicate and report clearly in English
