Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

To assist in the production of cartons producing finished product in accordance with ISO 9001 & PS9000 and the company’s best practice quality and safety procedures.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Production
  • To comply with current systems of working including established shift patterns.
  • To work as a team to achieve daily/weekly production targets working as part of a crew on the gluing assembly lines reporting to the machine operator.
  • To achieve the highest possible quality standards working within the guidelines outlined in the established quality systems to achieve customer specification.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and training to ensure product is fed, glued, inspected and packed.
  • Quality check cartons whilst feeding these into the gluing machine.
  • Quality check glued cartons whilst coming off gluing lines.
  • Pack into correct corrugates per customer specification.
  • Comply with sampling process as per customer request.
  • Participate as part of a team to maximise machine efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous learning and development to update skills and participate in improvement initiatives in production.
  • To work flexibly across all the finishing departments.
Health and Safety
  • To work in a safe manner adhering to laid down health and safety procedures.
  • To report all accidents and dangerous occurrences and potential risks and ensure you behave in a way which minimizes risk to yourself and others.
Maintenance
  • To assist in the maintenance of all machinery and equipment in line with established planned maintenance programs.
  • To keep work area clean and tidy ensuring that the highest standards of housekeeping and hygiene are always maintained.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Sound process knowledge of a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical/Healthcare market desirable but not essential.
  • Familiar with quality standards and procedures and ability to examine cartons to a high-quality standard is desirable.
  • I.T literacy with a good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Methodical approach to undertaking tasks.
