Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our Data & AI team in London, driving production ML systems from concept to deployment. You will work with Data Scientists, Engineers and Platform teams to build, deploy and scale ML solutions that deliver business value at scale.

Engage in modern MLOps practices, cloud platforms and enterprise-scale data products while shaping the future of AI at Royal Mail.

Qualifications

• Proven ML engineer experience delivering production ML solutions.
• Experience with Python and ML frameworks TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubeflow.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable ML pipelines.
• Cloud environments (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Containerisation and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Strong software engineering, DevOps and MLOps principles.
• Experience building and supporting production APIs and ML services.
• Collaborative with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Minimum 3 years in ML/AI engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable ML pipelines for training, testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Optimize model performance, reliability and production readiness.
• Build CI/CD workflows for ML delivery.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to operationalise models.
• Promote MLOps best practices across the data community.
• Deploy and manage ML workloads using approved cloud tools.
• Ensure production APIs and ML services are resilient and secure.
• Contribute to engineering standards and innovation.
