Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our South Yorkshire manufacturing operations and drive improvements in productivity, quality, delivery and cost. You will manage day-to-day production, develop teams including Team Leaders and Supervisors, plan labour and capacity, monitor KPIs, and implement lean initiatives while ensuring HSE and quality standards are met.

This role requires hands-on leadership, a track record of delivering continuous improvement,

Qualifications

• Five years' experience in a Production Management role within manufacturing.
• Experience leading production teams and managing Team Leaders, Supervisors or Section Managers.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proven track record of improving productivity, throughput, labour efficiency and on-time delivery.
• Experience in production planning, capacity management, resource allocation and workforce optimisation.
• Ability to interpret production data, monitor KPIs and make informed operational decisions.
• Experience managing overtime, controlling direct labour costs and working towards production budgets or cost targets.
• Good understanding of quality management, health and safety and environmental standards.
• Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Degree in engineering or substantial relevant experience within manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage production operations to achieve output, quality, delivery and cost targets.
• Coach and develop Team Leaders, Section Managers and production employees to improve performance.
• Plan and coordinate labour, materials, equipment and capacity to meet demand.
• Monitor production performance via KPIs and implement improvement actions.
• Identify bottlenecks and drive lean improvements to increase throughput.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Planning and Maintenance to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies, training and employee development.
• Oversee overtime and direct labour costs to meet objectives.
• Support new product introductions and manufacturing method improvements.
