Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations to achieve production targets.
  • Ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
  • Monitor production performance and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Manage labour, equipment, and materials to maximise productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure production schedules are achieved and customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Coach, develop production supervisors, team leaders, and operators.
  • Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability and teamwork.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs.
  • Promote employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
  • Reduce downtime, waste, and operational costs.
  • Support implementation of new processes, equipment, and technologies.
  • Monitor and report on key production KPIs including output, efficiency, quality, downtime, and labour utilisation.
  • Analyse production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to operational planning and business improvement projects.

Description

We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of production targets.

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day production activities, leading production teams, and driving continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for delivering high levels of productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be a strong people manager with a passion for operational excellence and proven experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Profile

You are an experienced Production Manager with a proven track record of leading manufacturing teams and delivering operational improvements. You are highly organised, results-driven, and capable of balancing people management with operational performance.

You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about driving continuous improvement while developing your team.

  1. Proven experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role.
  2. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning.
  3. Experience leading and developing teams within an industrial manufacturing and engineering environment.
  4. Knowledge of Health & Safety, quality systems, and operational best practices.
  5. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  11. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  12. A background in mechanical engineering ands assembly would help
