Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an experienced Production Manager for a well-established industrial manufacturer based in Deeside. You will lead daily production operations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong people management, lean manufacturing experience, KPI tracking, and collaboration with engineering and supply chain. You will coach supervisors and foster a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Production Manager or similar leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations to achieve production targets.
  • Ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
  • Monitor production performance and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Manage labour, equipment, and materials to maximise productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure production schedules are achieved and customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Manage, coach, and develop production supervisors, team leaders, and operators.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture built on accountability and teamwork.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
  • Promote employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
  • Reduce downtime, waste, and operational costs.
  • Support the implementation of new processes, equipment, and technologies
  • Monitor and report on key production KPIs including output, efficiency, quality, downtime, and labour utilisation.
  • Analyse production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to operational planning and business improvement projects.

Description

We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of production targets.


Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day production activities, leading production teams, and driving continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for delivering high levels of productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.


The successful candidate will be a strong people manager with a passion for operational excellence and proven experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Profile

You are an experienced Production Manager with a proven track record of leading manufacturing teams and delivering operational improvements. You are highly organised, results-driven, and capable of balancing people management with operational performance.


You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about driving continuous improvement while developing your team.



  • Proven experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning.

  • Experience leading and developing teams within an industrial manufacturing and engineering environment.

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, quality systems, and operational best practices.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Experience managing production KPIs and driving performance improvements.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Good IT skills, including experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline / equivalent.

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement qualifications.

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.

  • A background in mechanical engineering ands assembly would help


Job Offer

£60,000 to £65,000 plus car and benefits
