Job summary

MCS Group is excited to recruit for an experienced Production Manager to lead a thriving operation at their Limavady facility in Northern Ireland.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will oversee a production team of around 120 people, champion safety, quality and delivery, and drive cost and productivity improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This hands-on role requires strong people management and a track record of achieving targets in engineering/manufacturing settings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior Production/Manufacturing role leading large teams.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity management, and shopfloor performance.
• Experience in engineering/assembly/manufacturing environments.
• Solid understanding of health and safety and quality standards.
• Experience using KPIs and ERP/MRP systems to drive performance.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will provide leadership across a production team of approximately 120 people, working through a team of Team Leaders to drive a high-performing manufacturing operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong shopfloor presence, excellent people management skills and experience in delivering against safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity targets.

The successful candidate:

• Proven experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager or similar senior production leadership role managing large production teams.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity management, labour allocation and shopfloor performance.
• Experience within an engineering, electrical, mechanical, fabrication, assembly or similar manufacturing environment.
• A strong understanding of manufacturing health & safety and quality standards.
• Experience using production KPIs, ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office to drive performance.
• Excellent communication, organisation, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
