Energy Voice, part of DC Thomson, is seeking a Production Manager – Energy Brands in Aberdeen. You will lead end-to-end production for premium campaigns across Energy Voice and E-FWD, coordinating editorial, marketing and client communications to deliver on time and on budget.

You will manage multiple campaigns, optimize workflows, and partner with internal teams and freelancers to ensure high-quality content and strong commercial performance.

Production Manager – Energy Brands

Function: Energy Brands
Location: Aberdeen (Hybrid)
Reporting line: Reports to Head of Energy Brands / Commercial Lead

Role Purpose

The Production Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of premium visibility campaigns across Energy Voice and E-FWD, including commercial, editorial and marketing video content.

Acting as the operational lead from campaign handover through to publication and reporting, the Production Manager ensures content is delivered on time, on budget and on brief. The role works closely with Community, Editorial, Brand, Marketing and AV teams, coordinating multiple stakeholders to deliver exceptional client experiences and high-quality content that supports audience engagement and commercial performance.

This role enables the Community Team to focus on client relationships, campaign strategy and business growth by taking ownership of planning, production management, logistics and delivery.

About the Role

Operating within a fast-paced media and events environment, you'll oversee multiple campaigns simultaneously, ensuring all moving parts come together effectively and efficiently.

You'll be responsible for managing production schedules, coordinating internal teams and freelancers, overseeing client communications and maintaining visibility of risks, resources, deadlines and budgets throughout the production cycle.

Success in this role requires exceptional organisation, strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Campaign Delivery
  • Manage campaign execution from handover through to publication and reporting.
  • Review, refine and challenge campaign briefs where required.
  • Create detailed production plans, timelines and delivery milestones.
  • Monitor progress, dependencies and deadlines to ensure campaigns stay on schedule.
  • Ensure deliverables remain aligned to agreed objectives, budgets and client expectations.
Project & Production Management
  • Coordinate internal teams, external partners and freelancers throughout campaign delivery.
  • Define responsibilities, deadlines, approval processes and key milestones.
  • Manage all production logistics, including filming schedules, travel arrangements, locations, equipment requirements and crew coordination.
  • Identify and mitigate production risks, implementing contingency plans where required.
Workflow & Resource Management
  • Manage production workflows using Monday.com, Trello and other project management tools.
  • Maintain production calendars and workload plans.
  • Monitor team capacity and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Provide regular status updates and visibility of project priorities.
Documentation & Communication
  • Produce and maintain production documentation including:
    • Campaign briefs
    • Production plans
    • Call sheets
    • Interview schedules
    • Shot lists
    • Risk registers
    • Project timelines
  • Lead production meetings and communicate progress, challenges and next steps to stakeholders.
Client Coordination
  • Act as the operational point of contact for clients throughout campaign delivery.
  • Coordinate filming schedules, approvals, interviews, asset collection and logistics.
  • Ensure clients receive clear, proactive communication and a positive delivery experience.
Quality Assurance & Launch
  • Coordinate internal reviews and approval processes across Editorial, Brand, Marketing and Commercial teams.
  • Maintain quality standards across all content outputs.
  • Secure final sign-off from stakeholders and clients.
  • Work closely with Marketing teams to ensure content is published, promoted and distributed through agreed channels.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve production processes, workflows and reporting.
  • Drive efficiency through automation, standardisation and better resource planning.
  • Produce performance reporting for video, editorial and commercial campaigns.
  • Share learning and best practice across the business.

You have a proven ability to plan, organise and deliver complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, deadlines and dependencies.
