Job summary

Unipart Group in Coventry is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead a flagship electrification and injection‑m moulding project. You will manage shop‑floor operations, drive lean processes, and direct teams to achieve safety, quality, and output targets.

The role focuses on scaling from zero to 200+ production colleagues within four months, with strong emphasis on continuous improvement, cost control, and cross‑functional teamwork to meet demanding schedules.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in high‑volume manufacturing environments.
• Experience applying lean manufacturing and CI methods (5S, Kaizen, Poke‑Yoke, JIT).
• Strong people leadership: communicate, direct shift teams, coach supervisors.
• Technical/operational familiarity with assembly lines, electrification or injection moulding.
• Minimum UK Driving Licence; HND/NVQ/ILM Level qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of production teams to meet on‑time output against schedules.
• Lead rapid scale‑up and engage teams during growth phase; manage shift briefings and returns‑to‑work.
• Coach teams in lean techniques and standard work to improve efficiency and quality.
• Ensure health, safety, environment compliance and drive proactive investigations.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Toolroom, Maintenance and Logistics to reduce downtime and control costs.
• Influence process direction and adapt to changing priorities within a fast‑moving project.
