Job summary

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop the production team and run reviews.
• Plan shifts and resources to ensure full coverage and unity of teams.
• Own line performance: output, packaging usage, downtime, waste.
• Use data to identify problems, implement fixes, and pursue improvements.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager on capital projects and strategic changes.
• Provide daily/weekly KPI updates and participate in cross-functional meetings.
• Work with HR on onboarding and bringing new people into the team.

Job description

The production lines are warming up, the team is filing in, and by the time most people have had their first coffee you already know how today is going to go. Packs per minute, checkweigher trends, a camera grading system that doesn't lie. This is a job for someone who likes knowing exactly where they stand.

You'll run the production area for a family-run food manufacturing business that pride themselves on culture. Field to fork, done properly. No weekends, no rotating nights. Just a solid Monday to Friday where you get to build something.

What you'll actually be doing

Your Team are your engine room. You'll coach them, develop them, run their reviews and make sure there's always cover when someone's off. You'll plan shifts and resources with them and make sure both shift teams feel like one team.

You'll own line performance. Output, packaging usage, downtime, waste. You'll use the data to find the problem, fix it, and move on to the next one. When there's a bigger opportunity, you'll work with the Operations Manager on the strategic stuff and capital projects.

And you'll be the voice of production in the business. Daily and weekly KPI updates, cross-functional meetings, audits, and working with HR on bringing new people into the team.

Who this suits

Someone who's run a food production floor and knows BRC inside out. Chilled or high-volume packing would be ideal. You lead with positivity rather than volume, you'd rather develop a Team Leader than do their job for them, and you get a quiet buzz from a good OEE number.
