Job summary

The Compleat Food Group in Clitheroe is seeking an experienced Production Manager to own the manufacturing operation on site. You will oversee daily to monthly production plans, drive performance across KPIs, and lead teams to deliver safety, quality and on-time output.

Join a hands-on leadership team committed to continuous improvement, mentoring frontline leaders and collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Planning and Supply Chain to achieve site objectives.

• Experience leading large production teams in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment.
• Strong track record delivering safety, quality, and performance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production operation to deliver daily, weekly and monthly production plans.
• Drive performance across KPIs including labour utilisation, yield, waste, downtime, OEE and cost control.
• Champion Health, Safety and Environmental culture across the site.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, allergen controls, GMP and company procedures.
• Develop and mentor Team Leaders and Group Leaders for succession planning.
• Lead investigations into non-conformances and implement corrective actions.

looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager to join our Clitheroe site and play a key role in delivering operational

excellence across our manufacturing operation.

The Role

Reporting to the Site/Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the manufacturing operation, ensuring production plans are

delivered safely, efficiently, on time, in full, and to the highest quality standards.

You will lead and develop high-performing production teams, drive operational performance, and work collaboratively across

Engineering, Technical, Planning, NPD and Supply Chain functions to deliver business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the production operation to deliver daily, weekly and monthly production plans.
• Drive performance across key operational KPIs including labour utilisation, yield, waste, downtime, OEE and cost control.
• Champion a strong Health, Safety and Environmental culture across the factory.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, allergen controls, GMP and company procedures.
• Provide visible leadership on the factory floor, supporting teams to resolve issues and maintain performance.
• Lead investigations into non-conformances, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
• Manage production resources effectively, including labour planning, skills coverage and equipment availability.
• Develop, coach and mentor Team Leaders and Group Leaders, ensuring succession plans and development plans are in place.
• Manage employee relations matters including attendance, performance, disciplinary and grievance processes.
• Support product trials, process validation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with Technical, Quality, Engineering and Planning teams to deliver site objectives.
• Lead operational improvement projects that enhance performance, efficiency and customer service.

About You

We're looking for an experienced manufacturing leader who can inspire teams, drive accountability, and deliver results in a

challenging and fast-moving environment.

• Experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager role within food manufacturing.
• Proven track record of leading large operational teams in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong understanding of production KPIs, labour planning, waste reduction and continuous improvement.
• Experience managing food safety, quality and compliance standards within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong people management skills with the ability to coach, develop and motivate teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving capability.

Essential Qualifications

• Level 3 or Level 4 Food Safety & Hygiene qualification.
• HACCP Level 3 or Level 4 qualification.
• Auditing experience.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
