Production Manager - Heavy Engineering / Fabrication / CNC

Full-time | £44,000 to £47,000 per annum + Benefits

A well-established and highly respected engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead operations on a busy, fast-paced shop floor. With ongoing investment in automation and cutting-edge machinery, this is an exciting time to join a growing team and play a key role in driving operational excellence.

The Role:

As Production Manager, you'll oversee a team of around 20 shop floor staff, working closely with internal CAD and transport teams to ensure smooth workflow, on-time delivery, and quality output. You'll be based predominantly on the shop floor leading from the front and maintaining high standards.

The business is introducing new automated machinery, so this role suits someone with experience in high-volume, repetitive manufacturing environments—such as automotive, food processing, or similar.

Machinery on Site Includes:

1. 2 x Large grinding machines
2. Stress relieving oven
3. 2 x Water jets
4. 37m x 4m flame/plasma cutter
5. 2 x Lasers
6. 4 x Press brakes

Systems include SigmaNest, Bystronic, and a bespoke internal production platform.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. Proven experience in a production or shop floor leadership role
2. Strong character with the ability to confidently manage people and conduct disciplinaries when necessary
3. Hands-on, practical, and calm under pressure
4. Technical knowledge of automated or CNC machinery, ideally in a high-volume setting
5. Able to read and interpret technical drawings and coordinate with multiple departments
6. Familiar with production software and continuous improvement methods
