Our client based in Burton-on-Trent are expanding their team due to massive growth over the last 12 months and are looking to appoint a Production Manager to join their business and take charge of their production area.

Role Overview:

The Production Manager oversees all shift operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production. This role drives performance, cost control, and continuous improvement while aligning production with business goals. The position works cross-functionally to ensure smooth coordination and fosters a high-performing team culture.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and execute production strategies aligned with business goals.

  • Manage and develop production teams, promoting a high-performance culture.

  • Plan and oversee production schedules, labor, and resource allocation.

  • Ensure product quality and compliance with food safety standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement, cost control, and waste reduction.

  • Promote a safe working environment and enforce H&S protocols.

  • Oversee equipment maintenance and minimize downtime.

  • Report on performance metrics and support leadership decision-making.

People Profile:

  • Proven experience in production management or senior supervisory roles within food manufacturing or similar sectors.

  • Strong leadership skills with a history of building and motivating high-performing teams.

  • Solid knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and health & safety compliance.

  • Analytical thinker with the ability to use production data to drive improvements.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and manage stakeholders effectively.

  • Highly organized with strong planning and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and change management.

  • Proficiency in production planning systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
