Job summary

Randstad Employment Bureau in Plymouth is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain equipment reliability and drive efficiency across the Plymouth facility, with hands-on maintenance, TPM leadership, and mentoring frontline technicians.

You will report to the Maintenance Technical Leader, working 8:30 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with no weekend shifts, and enjoy a pension, private medical insurance, and a range of employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Manufacturing maintenance experience in a high-volume environment.
• Knowledge of maintenance systems (SAP preferred) and TPM techniques.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to adjust working schedules for critical maintenance and plant shutdowns.

Responsibilities

• Perform AM/PM tasks on schedule and document activities with the Maintenance Planner.
• Lead TPM initiatives and drive continuous improvement across the site.
• Provide troubleshooting support to production teams and mentor staff in repair techniques.
• Organize spare parts for planned maintenance windows, equipment rebuilds, and plant shutdowns.
• Utilize toolroom capabilities to support ongoing maintenance and operational needs.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Maintenance Technical Leader, you will maintain equipment reliability and drive operational efficiency across our Plymouth facility. This position combines hands-on preventative maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) leadership, and the mentorship of frontline technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute AM/PM tasks on schedule and document activities with the Maintenance Planner.
• Conduct regular equipment audits to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead assigned TPM initiatives.
• Provide troubleshooting support to production teams and mentor staff in best-practice repair techniques.
• Organize spare parts and materials for planned maintenance windows, equipment rebuilds, and plant shutdowns.
• Utilize toolroom manufacturing capabilities to support ongoing maintenance and operational needs.

What We Are Looking For:

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment (high-volume production preferred).
• Knowledge of maintenance systems (SAP preferred), TPM techniques, and toolroom machinery.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to adjust working schedules when needed for critical maintenance and plant shutdowns.
