Job summary

CLS helps clients navigate the FX marketplace with a focus on reducing risk and creating efficiencies. The role focuses on second-line production operational support for CLS Linux/UNIX application services, owning problems through resolution, with remote and on-site support as part of on-call rotations.

The candidate will have strong Linux Red Hat production experience, automation skills, VMware and Veritas clustering knowledge, and experience with AWS services and enterprise monitoring.

Qualifications

• Must have strong system administration experience of Linux Red Hat Server in a Production enterprise environment.
• Experience of automation using Configuration Management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt Stack.
• Experience of supporting production VMware environments.
• Experience of Symantec Veritas Clustering Production Support.
• Experience performing diagnostic and troubleshooting of AWS Product set (EC2, Lambda, EKS, ECR, WorkSpaces, EBS, EFS, S3, RDS MSSQL, Route 53, VPC, CloudFormation, AWS Connect Direct).
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering and other operational support teams to support end-to-end service.
• Knowledge of ITIL framework (Incident, Problem, Change).
• Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring systems.
• Experience with ticket systems such as ServiceNow and understanding of priorities and SLA’s.

Responsibilities

• Provide project support for the Production Linux environments with Symantec Clustering Technology, including backups, restores, daily checks, and new systems.
• Ensure BAU service is prioritised and incidents, problems and service requests are addressed without SLA breaches.
• Investigate defects or problems; work with CLS teams and vendors to identify solutions and support fixes.
• Follow CLS Change Management and standard practices for Linux Cluster and infrastructure.
• Upgrade or maintain software minimizing business impact and manage failover for Linux and apps.
• Create, maintain and review operational process and support documentation.
• Perform daily/weekly/quarterly system checks and address issues.
• Participate in planned weekend work as required.
• Perform monthly OS security patching.
• Input into Linux infrastructure changes at CAB meetings and approve changes as required.
• Maintain and troubleshoot backup systems; support enterprise Production Linux server domain and VMware environments.
• Demonstrate good problem management ownership and prevention of SLA breaches under Incident/Problem Management processes.
• Lead by example to deliver high service excellence and transition new IT services into support.
