Job summary

KPI Recruiting is seeking a Production Line Manager for a food manufacturing business in Stoke-On-Trent. The role reports to the plant leadership and requires hands-on leadership to deliver operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

You will drive daily production planning, ensure strict adherence to food safety standards, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity and reduce waste. A track record of engaging teams and achieving KPI targets is essential.

• Work closely with Engineering, Technical, Planning, and other departments to optimise production performance.
• Manage staffing levels, training, and employee development.
• Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performance working culture.
• Ensure excellent housekeeping standards and compliance with HACCP, BRCGS, and food safety procedures.
• Identify and implement improvements across production processes.
• Support problem-solving activities and root cause analysis.

Salary: Up to £42,000 DOE

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop production teams to achieve operational excellence
• Manage daily production schedules to meet customer demand and business objectives
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety regulations

• Monitor KPIs including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), efficiency, yields, labour utilisation, and downtime
• Work closely with Engineering, Technical, Planning, and other departments to optimise production performance
• Manage staffing levels, training, and employee development
• Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performance working culture
• Ensure excellent housekeeping standards and compliance with HACCP, BRCGS, and food safety procedures

About You

• Previous experience as a Production Line Manager, Shift Manager, or Production Manager within a food manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• A proven track record of improving production performance and team engagement
• Excellent understanding of HACCP, BRCGS, food safety, and quality standards
• Experience managing KPIs and driving continuous improvement
• Strong planning, organisational, and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• A proactive, hands-on management style with the ability to motivate and develop teams
