Job summary

CHEP is seeking a Production Lead for the Tesco site in Purfleet-on-Thames (Thurrock). The role follows a 4-on-4-off day shift (06:00–18:00) and combines hands-on operations with team leadership to maintain safe, efficient production.

You will supervise a small team, drive continuous improvement, own safety and quality controls, and report KPIs. Candidates should have 3+ years in production or logistics, lean/CI experience, and strong MS Office skills.

• 3+ years in production, manufacturing or logistics.
• Experience in lean/CI operational roles is a plus.
• Familiarity with quality standards and matrix structures.
• Proficient in MS Office; strong communication and problem-solving skills.

*Production Lead**Location: *CHEP, Tesco Site; Purfleet-on-Thames RM19 1ND*Shift Pattern: *4 on - 4 off, Day shifts (6am-6pm)*Type: *Full Time, Permanent*Key Responsibilities May Include:** Lead by example within the assigned functional area, offering guidance and support to peers, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth production operations.* Actively support production activities, stepping in during shifts or breaks to maintain workflow and operational continuity.* Collaborate with plant administration to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures, promoting consistency and operational compliance.* Assist Plant leadership in enforcing policies and procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure operational efficiency.* Act as the subject matter expert for specialized areas, such as forklift operations, pallet sorting, or repair lines, providing expertise and ensuring best practices are followed.* Fulfill assigned production duties, ensuring quality and efficiency in line with plant performance goals.*About the role*We’re looking for a Production Lead to join our on-site solution at Tesco in Thurrock.
