Job Description:

A multi-award-winning TV/Film production Indie, internationally renowned for its cutting edge documentaries, feature films, and thought-provoking TV series, is seeking an experienced Production Finance Manager to join their thriving team.

About the Role

As Production Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial success of a diverse and ambitious slate of productions. Leading a talented team of production accountants, you will oversee all aspects of production finance—from cashflow and payroll to tax credits and compliance—ensuring robust financial management at every stage of the production lifecycle. This is a hands-on, strategic position that involves close collaboration with production teams, corporate finance, and external partners.

To be a suitable candidate, it is ESSENTIAL that you have extensive TV/Film Production Finance/Accounting experience. You will have worked at a Senior level within the team along with managerial experience.

This is a hybrid role that will require you to be in the Central London offices 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Production Accounting Team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Oversee financial performance and reporting across all projects, acting as the key link between production, finance, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage production cashflows, payroll, cost reporting, and monthly finance meetings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards (including IR35).
  • Support productions from inception to completion, including reconciliations, audits, and year-end processes.
  • Take ownership of the AVEC tax credit process, from budgeting to HMRC submission, managing the cultural test applications with BFI & auditors, maintain tax credit trackers and prepare accurate reporting
  • Supervise PMI system setup and training, maintain up-to-date finance documentation, and strengthen internal controls in line with IFRS.
  • Oversee petty cash, credit cards, and Fair FX accounts, providing hands-on production accounting support as needed.

Candidate Profile:

  • At least 5 years’ senior production accounting experience in the TV/Film, with extensive experience gained in the industry at a more junior level.
  • In-depth knowledge of AVEC Tax Credits, multi-currency projects, and the UK TV/film landscape.
  • Preferably professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven track record in production payroll and working with PACT/Equity agreements.
  • Strong managerial skills with a proven track record of leading, mentoring and developing teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with PMI, Movie Magic, and excellent Excel skills, are highly desirable.
  • A solid understanding of IFRS
  • Established relationships with UK broadcasters and SVOD platforms would be a distinct advantage.
