Job summary

Sony UK Tec, part of Sony Europe Limited, operates the UK tech centre in Pencoed, manufacturing high-technology cameras and systems. We seek a Production Engineering Technician to ensure efficient daily running, TPM, fault resolution, and continuous improvement within a safe environment.

You will read mechanical drawings, use precision measuring tools, implement process changes, and collaborate with the Production Engineering team to drive improvements and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 3 diploma in electrical, mechanical or maintenance engineering or above.
• Able to communicate at all levels throughout the business.
• Ability to make engineering and technical change decisions to improve quality, efficiency to the benefit of the business.
• A strong team player with a positive attitude towards achieving schedules.
• Self-motivated and strong sense of responsibility.
• Hands on tools experience.
• Tool room experience – pillar drills, millers and lathes.
• An understanding of basic electrical engineering.
• Good aptitude for complex and technical operations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out total productive maintenance (TPM) activities.
• Confident at fault finding and repairing on a range of production/process equipment.
• Control and implementation of key process changes.
• Implementation of productive innovation ideas.
• Provide input during Design for Manufacture evaluations.
• Stock management for your department.
• Ensuring a safe, clean working environment and carrying out work in a safe manner ensuring safety standards are met.
