Our UK presence has been growing, offering opportunities for personal fulfillment and career growth. We employ over 600 people across eight UK sites, specializing in software engineering, underwater robotics, radars, AI, and armed forces training.

The Role:

This role is part of our Saab Seaeye Business Unit in Fareham. The role provides Production Engineering support for the final assembly and testing of remotely operated vehicles and systems, focusing on clear, standardised process documentation. It also involves ensuring production processes, equipment, and facilities are in place to manufacture products safely and consistently, meeting cost, time, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Standardize processes and procedures across the department for consistency and collaboration.
  • Own, document, and train others on manufacturing processes and standards.
  • Attend SQCDP meetings and support problem-solving with the Area Team Leader and Quality Engineering to achieve on-time delivery and first-time quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Provide technical support for production and control processes.
  • Develop, optimize, and implement factory layouts and production cells.
  • Analyze data to drive continuous process improvement.

Skills and Experience:

  • Multi-disciplined engineer with electrical bias, experienced in testing, pre-commissioning, and fault finding.
  • Background in low-volume, engineered products and systems; suitable for Production, Project, or Delivery Engineers.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering knowledge, especially for complex assemblies like ROVs.
  • Technical troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve production issues.
  • Minimum qualifications: HNC/HND, Bachelor's degree, or relevant experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Hands-on support experience in assembly, testing, and quality control.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt) are advantageous; familiarity with hydraulics is beneficial. Support and training are available for working with electrics, high voltages, and hydraulics.
