Job summary

Photek, part of the Tibidabo Scientific Industries group, is looking for a Production Engineer to join the Engineering team in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex. This full-time, office-based role focuses on planning production processes to minimise waste and maximise quality, and to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead production improvements, participate in NPI and equipment evaluations, and work with suppliers to ensure high

Qualifications

• Mechanical/production engineering qualification at HND level or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical assembly and design, including jigs and fixtures.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Monitor processes and performance with Production Operators.
• Provide training to Production Operators on procedures.
• Maintain required quality standards in all production processes.
• Address problems or delays in production and take corrective action.
• Apply the 8-step problem solving methodology to resolve production issues.
• Maintain the working area and equipment to highest quality and safety standards.
• Participate in NPI and new equipment evaluation.
• Support transitioning engineering processes to Production.
• Promote continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing across Production.
• Assist in value engineering and cost/time reduction initiatives.
• Plan workflow, space and equipment layout requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers and service providers as needed.
