Job summary
PT Engineering & Manufacturing in Colchester is seeking a hands-on Production Engineer to join the shop floor-focused engineering team. You will support production, drive process improvements, and work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering to boost safety, quality and efficiency.
Key duties include resolving process issues, standardising processes, leading Lean/CI activities and supporting new equipment installations.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or related.
- Experience as a Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong CAD experience is essential - Creo or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day engineering support to production.
- Investigating and resolving manufacturing and process issues.
- Improving and standardising manufacturing processes.
- Leading Lean and Continuous Improvement activities.
- Reducing waste, downtime, scrap and rework.
- Supporting new equipment, tooling and automation projects.
- Creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
- Working with suppliers during equipment installation and commissioning.
