Job summary

Our client, an established Bindery firm near Padstow, seeks a permanent electrical engineer to join their team. You will maintain and repair printing and bookbinding machinery, inspect site equipment, and support installation/project work in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes health & safety, adherence to ISO standards, and opportunities to train apprentices. Salary £35,000-£45,000, Monday–Friday, 40-hour week, permanent position.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of production machinery.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned repair and maintenance of printing and bookbinding machinery, ensuring compliance with company and legal standards.
• Conduct daily repair, maintenance, and inspection of ancillary site and building equipment.
• Support installation and project work on equipment within the printing and bookbinding trade, as well as other site equipment.
• Work independently and proactively to maintain high standards of maintenance and health & safety.
• Assist in supervising and training apprentices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance operations.
• Undertake any reasonable duties associated with the role.
• Perform regular testing (PAT, fixed wiring inspections, RCD testing) to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
• Recommend and implement improvements or modifications to electrical systems and machinery.

• Experience with industry standard systems and processes (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, 27001).
