Job summary

The Production Engineer role in Newcastle upon Tyne is with Theo James Recruitment and offers an opportunity to advance manufacturing test systems and production processes in a modern electronics environment.

You will develop and improve in-circuit test programmes, production test fixtures and processes to maximise reliability, quality and first-pass yield, while collaborating with production, quality and design teams.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Production Engineer within electronics or manufacturing.
• 1, Knowledge of production engineering, manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.
• 2, Experience developing or supporting automated test systems, ideally In-Circuit Test equipment.
• 3, Practical fault-finding skills on electronic assemblies and PCB products.
• 4, Programming experience with LabVIEW, Visual Basic, Python, C# or similar languages is advantageous.
• 5, Experience with test fixtures, production equipment and manufacturing software.
• 6, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
• 7, Ability to work collaboratively with production, quality and engineering teams.
• 8, Degree qualified in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Engineer to support the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of manufacturing test systems and production processes within a modern electronics manufacturing environment.

As Production Engineer, you will develop and improve in-circuit test programmes, production test fixtures and manufacturing processes to maximise reliability, quality and first-pass yield. You'll work closely with production, quality and design teams to resolve technical issues, introduce new products into manufacture and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful Production Engineer will analyse production data, identify trends, carry out root cause investigations and implement practical engineering solutions that improve manufacturing performance. You'll also maintain production test equipment, create technical documentation and support in-house software used for production tracking and testing.

This role would suit a proactive Production Engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, improving manufacturing processes and working across multiple engineering disciplines in a fast-paced production environment.
