An established and forward-thinking engineering manufacturer is seeking a Production Engineer to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity to work on bespoke electro-mechanical products, playing a critical role in enhancing manufacturing processes and supporting product innovation.
About the RoleReporting directly to the Chief Engineer, the Production Engineer will be key to driving manufacturing efficiency and quality. From developing jigs and fixtures to refining production methods and supporting technician training, this role blends technical creativity with day-to-day problem solving.
You’ll contribute across departments—from supporting R&D to providing solutions on the production floor—all while championing continuous improvement and high manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities:Design and build production equipment, fixtures, and jigs, integrating motors, extrusions, 3D printed parts and more.
Create clear and detailed manufacturing instructions and documentation.
Work closely with the production team to resolve technical queries and improve processes.
Provide training and support to technicians on manufacturing best practices.
Attend design reviews and contribute to Design for Manufacture (DFM) discussions.
Support R&D activities aligned with the company’s Technology Road Map.
Assist in root cause investigations (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa) and develop robust corrective actions.
Promote a “Right First Time” approach to product assembly.
Collaborate across teams to strengthen communication and product integrity.
Uphold quality, health and safety, and environmental standards across all tasks.
Minimum HND in an Engineering or Technical discipline.
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
Confident in using CAD software – ideally Autodesk Inventor.
Practical experience with electro-mechanical manufacturing (desired).
Familiarity with epoxies or IPC standards (desired).
Skilled in both independent working and team collaboration.
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
Analytical, solutions-focused, and detail-oriented.
