Job Description

Are you looking for your next challenge?Join Taylor & Francis Group within our Books Production Editorial department at this exciting time of growth and opportunity. As a Production Editor you will oversee the production of new titles from receipt of the author’s uncopyedited typescript through to delivery of the final content, ensuring new books meet our quality requirements.

The key responsibilities are:

  • Commissioning suppliers, preparing material for suppliers, managing relationships with and feeding back to external suppliers, such as project managers
  • Maintaining up-to-date information on our database, and communicating with colleagues in other departments as necessary
  • Quality control of final content
  • Controlling budgets, assessing and coding invoices for prompt supplier payment
  • Liaising with authors if required, and providing necessary support
  • Completing multiple tasks to deadlineswithin a process driven environment.
Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Accustomed to prioritising and working to deadlines, be organised and able to multi-task
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify spelling and grammatical errors
  • Understanding of the importance of maintaining information relied on by others, ideally through experience of using a database
  • A good communicator, both written and verbal, able to represent the company professionally and contribute to the team
  • Basic skills in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Experience of working within budgets
  • The ability to problem-solve and work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Aptitude and enthusiasm for working with new technology and dealing with people, and adapt well to change
  • A basic understanding of the publishing process from typescript submission to final content.
  • Full training will be provided.
Additional Information

  • A minimum salary of £31,956 (pro rata)

Additional Information:

This role is offered as a maternity cover contract. The expected contract length is 11 months and is due to commence approximately. mid-July 2025.

Location:The successful candidate will be able to utiliseour balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within acommutable distance of our UK officesto ensure that, as a balanced worker they can make it to our office locations to collaborate as required. There is an expectation for a minimum of2.5 days per week, with the rest of the time working from home.
