Production Director (Scenic Construction)

Reports to: Board of Directors

Location: South East London

A leading scenic construction and production company is looking for a Production Director to lead workshop operations and deliver high-quality creative builds across theatre, events, exhibitions, and media.

As part of the senior leadership team, you'll oversee departments including carpentry, metalwork, and scenic art. You'll manage production timelines, resource planning, and team development while championing operational excellence and a positive workplace culture.

What You'll Do

• Lead day-to-day workshop operations and project delivery
• Create and implement strategic plans that help to achieve company goals and objectives
• Develop schedules, manage resources, and ensure projects run smoothly
• Maintain high standards in quality, health & safety, and cost control
• Support and mentor team leads and promote career development
• Collaborate on company strategy and continuous improvement initiatives
• Identify talent gaps through talent matrices
• Create succession plans for workshop-based positions
• Develop and implement staff training programs
• Project-based resource allocation
