Key Responsibilities- Lead the Production Team: Manage, mentor, and coordinate a team of ~8 producers, videographers, editors, and crew, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Production Planning & Scheduling: Oversee the end-to-end production pipeline – from concept development and pre-production planning to post-production. Create production schedules for all platforms and channels, and calendars to ensure a consistent content release cadence.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage production budgets for all shoots. Track expenses, negotiate with vendors/freelancers, and ensure efficient use of resources to deliver high-quality content within budget.
- Scheduling & Logistics: Coordinate all logistics for shoots, including booking locations or studios, securing permits when needed, hiring freelance crew as necessary, and organizing travel arrangements for domestic or international filming.
- On-Set Oversight: Serve as the on-site production lead during shoots. Oversee setup, troubleshoot issues, and ensure each shoot runs smoothly, safely, and on schedule. Maintain a professional yet enjoyable atmosphere on set.
- Quality Control: Work closely with directors, hosts (Josh & Ollie), and the creative team to ensure the content meets our quality standards and aligns with the channel’s tone. Oversee post-production progress, ensuring editors have what they need and final videos are delivered on time.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key liaison between the production team and other stakeholders (creative directors, brand partners, etc.). Provide regular updates on production status, and manage expectations regarding timelines and deliverables.
- Process Improvement: Continuously refine production workflows and processes. Implement best practices for digital content production, and ensure the team adapts to new content strategies or platform changes (e.g. YouTube updates) effectively.
- Problem Solving: Anticipate and resolve any production challenges (scheduling conflicts, technical issues, last-minute changes) with a cool head and resourceful approach, keeping projects on track.
Candidate Requirements- Experience: 5+ years of experience in video production, ideally in digital content (YouTube/online video) or television/film production. A proven track record of managing productions from planning through post is essential.
- Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading a production team or large-scale video projects. Strong people management skills with the ability to inspire and organize a creative team.
- Production Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the full production lifecycle – including pre-production planning, on-set production, and post-production workflows. Familiarity with filming equipment and techniques, lighting/sound setups, and editing processes.
- Project Management Skills: Excellent organizational and project management abilities. Capable of juggling multiple projects and schedules, and adept at prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Budget & Resource Management: Experience creating and managing budgets. Able to balance creative ambition with cost-effective production solutions.
- Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable collaborating with on-screen talent, crew, and external partners.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt on the fly to changing circumstances during shoots or shifts in content direction. Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Passion for Content: A genuine interest in the type of content we create. Experience with YouTube content production or knowledge of trends in digital media is a big plus. (An interest in Korean or British culture is welcome, but not required.)
- Education: Relevant education in Film/TV Production, Media, or related field is a plus (but equivalent professional experience is most important).
Location & Work Environment- Location: Central London – working primarily from our Soho office/studio. This role is on-site to facilitate hands-on team leadership and production oversight.
- On Location Shoots: In addition to office-based work, you will oversee regular shoots on location around London (and occasionally other UK locations). Some international travel (for example, filming projects in the USA, South Korea or other countries) may be required for special episodes.
- Working Hours: Standard full-time working hours with some flexibility. Production days may occasionally require early starts, late finishes, or weekend work, depending on the shooting schedule. We offer flexibility around shoot times and compensate appropriately for extra hours.
- Environment: A fast-paced, creative, and collaborative work setting. You’ll be working closely with a small, passionate team where everyone wears multiple hats. Our workplace is professional but not overly corporate – we value creativity, humor, and a positive attitude as much as efficiency.
Benefits & Perks- Competitive Salary: Salary is competitive and dependent on experience (DOE). We want to attract the right candidate and will offer a compensation package reflective of your expertise and the importance of this role.
- High-Profile Content: Opportunity to work on videos and series that reach a global audience of millions. Your work will be showcased on channels with a massive fan base and loyal community.
- Creative Impact: A chance to have a significant impact on the creative output and direction of two major YouTube channels. You’ll play a key role in bringing innovative ideas to life and shaping content that bridges cultures and entertains worldwide audiences.
- Collaborative Team Culture: Work with a friendly, energetic team that is passionate about what we do. We maintain an open, supportive culture where good ideas are shared freely and everyone contributes to the success of the projects.
